Dry Sanitation Technologies: Developing a Simplified Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis Tool
نویسندگان
چکیده
Safely managed sanitation is indispensable for societies to ensure public health, environmental protection, and economic social development. This could be achieved, in large areas of the world, through dry systems. Dry systems are especially used water-scarce regions low-income households. In dense peri-urban areas, achievement safe necessitates a comprehensive fecal sludge management (FSM) service chain, surpassing mere provision latrines. research introduces an automatic Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) approach, which focuses on particular interface/storage stage FSM chain. The tool aims support decision-making process may useful early stages planning as it compares different technologies with potential application countries. It includes criteria parameters Social, Economic, Technical, Environmental dimensions options (SETEds), being adaptable contexts priorities. main key strengths were found its minimal data requirements ability customize operation maintenance cost parameters. These features particularly relevant data-scarce contexts, where traditional models lead unreliable recommendations or lack solution ownership by users. was applied Ambriz case study, coastal town Northern Angola, West Africa. obtained results analyzed show tool’s provides technology aligned site community characteristics.

Challenges with up-scaling dry sanitation technologies.
The acceleration of sanitation delivery towards meeting the South African Government's target of completely eradicating the existing backlogs by 2010, has led to a surge of activities. As part of its strategy for ensuring that basic sanitation is provided, the policy has recommended that a ventilated improved pit latrine (VIP) is considered as the basic minimum requirement in the form of a sani...
متن کاملINTUITIONISTIC FUZZY DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS FOR MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION MAKING
Dimensional analysis, for multi-criteria decision making, is a mathematical method that includes diverse heterogeneous criteria into a single dimensionless index. Dimensional Analysis, in its current definition, presents the drawback to manipulate fuzzy information commonly presented in a multi-criteria decision making problem. To overcome such limitation, we propose two dimensional analysis ba...
متن کاملEvaluation of recommender systems: A multi-criteria decision making approach
The evaluation and selection of recommender systems is a difficult decision making process. This difficulty is partially due to the large diversity of published evaluation criteria in addition to lack of standardized methods of evaluation. As such, a systematic methodology is needed that explicitly considers multiple, possibly conflicting metrics and assists decision makers to evaluate and find...

Through quantitative evaluation of the data and information compiled in the literature review and survey, an explicitly defined list of alternatives and decision criteria to evaluate rehabilitation alternatives was developed for culverts 122 centimeter (48 inch) in diameter or smaller. Relative weights of each criterion were assigned in comparison to the defined alternatives, thereby allowing a...
متن کاملA fuzzy multi-criteria decision method for ecotourism development locating
The County of Khorram-Abad enjoys a high potential for ecotourism because of its mountains, forests, natural mineral springs, natural waterfalls and diversity in folks and cultures. But, un-planned and uncontrolled ecotourism can have negative effects on environment, economy, culture and even the security of eco-tourists.
